I have the most recent iMac, and I want to get the new Snow Leopard software, do I have to delete everything?
I have an iMac, I want to download the new Apple Software called Snow Leopard but I’m afraid that when I install it I will have to delete everything. Will this happen? Or will it just replace the software I already have?
No, You will not loose your data unless you choose to do a System restore. Just purchase the upgrade CD which costs $29 if you have one Mac or the $49 if you want to run it on 5 Macs. Put the CD inside your Mac’s Superdrive and then wait about 1 minute. It will load the Disc and show an install Mac OS X Snow Leopard pop up. Double click on install. Follow the steps and your good to go after about a 45 minute wait time that it takes to install. Then your good to go. Now if you want it to restore your computer like new you have to pop in the Leopard disc and do a System Restore. Then pop the Snow Leopard Disc in once your computer has a clean Install of Leopard. But if you just do the steps I told you above you will be fine. I did it Today and its a good upgrade. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. Good Luck.
